BISHOP KWOFIE, CSSp APPOINTED NEW ARCHBISHOP OF ACCRA
Peace! His Holiness Pope Francis has appointed Most Reverend John Bonaventure KWOFIE, C.S.Sp. as the new Archbishop of the Archdiocese of Accra.
The news was released in a Press Communique from the Apostolic Nunciature signed by Rev. Msgr. Pavol Talapta, the Charge d’Affaires a.i. on Wednesday, 2nd January 2019 and announced at the National Catholic Secretariat by Very Rev. Fr. Lazarus Anondee, the Secretary General. The official Press Communique and the CV of Most Rev. Kwofie, CSSp, as released by the Apostolic Nunciature, are attached below.
By this, we ask all priests to make the official announcement in all parishes/churches throughout the entire Archdiocese of Accra on Sunday, 6th January 2019. Please note that the priest is to make the announcement himself.
Meanwhile, the Apostolic Administrator, Archbishop Palmer-Buckle has called the Archbishop-Elect to congratulate him and also registered the welcome of all the priests and Religious of the Archdiocese.
